"BILINGUALISM" MAKES TENSE
Statement of Peace & Democracy Party (BDP) that there bill be "bilingual life" and their initiatives to speak Kurdish in the Parliament caused a new tension. After Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin called on prosecutors to take action, President Abdullah Gul said, "everybody should be more responsible. Turkish is the formal language of Turkey and this will continue so."
ARMENIAN RESOLUTION AGAIN ON AGENDA
It was claimed that Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, has taken an initiative to bring draft resolution on so-called Armenian genocide into the agenda within 48 hours.
As Ankara started to take initiatives, U.S. State Department said they were "strongly against".

CRITICAL 48 HOURS TO ARMENIAN RESOLUTION
Ankara got alarmed following the information that Armenian resolution would be put on the agenda in U.S. Congress. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu talked to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by phone.
Putting the draft on the agenda depends on Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, whose term in office would expire on January 3.
In his telephone conversation with Clinton, Davutoglu said this initiative could not be accepted and should be stopped immediately.
Clinton said, "you should not have any doubt that we will do our best."
The congress postponed its works to Tuesday.
TURKISH IS THE COMMON LANGUAGE OF EVERYBODY
President Abdullah Gul, while commenting on the call by the Peace & Democracy Party (BDP) to speak in two languages in Southeastern Anatolia region without waiting for a legal arrangement, said, "formal language of Turkish Republic is Turkish and this will continue. However, there are other languages spoken in Turkey. The languages which our people speak are also our languages. This is a separate issue. We should always teach Turkish to those who do not know Turkish and do not speak it."

HOT PEPPER ON DUAL LANGUAGE
Turkish President and the military responded to BDP's message which said "we will not wait for the government for dual language" and BDP deputies' remarks in Kurdish in the parliament.
President Abdullah Gul recalled that Turkey's official language was Turkish. "However, there are some other languages spoken in our country," he said.
Gul also gave a clear message to BDP lawmakers, who spoke Kurdish in a parliamentary session, saying, "our way ahead will be clear if everybody acts more carefully and responsibly at a time when differences are considered as richness."
ECONOMIC TWEAK
Economy authorities made very important decisions to bring down domestic consumption and increase exports.
Accordingly, minimum monthly credit card payments will be 25 percent of the debt for cards with limits up to 15,000 lira. Minimum payment will be 40 percent for card with limits over 20,000 lira.
Home loans will not exceed 75 percent of the home price. The limit will be 50 percent for commercial real estate purchases.
The Central Bank raised required reserve ratios. It means loan granting capacity of banks will be restricted. By this way, consumption will slim down and exports will go up as foreign currencies would increase after the interest rate cut.
THY FLIES AWAY
After Barcelona, Manchester United and Kobe Bryant, Turkish Airlines has now agreed with world's number one tennis player Caroline Wozniacki. The 20-year-old tennis star will be the face of THY's business class. The commercial in which Wozniacki will star is expected to be aired in major European TV channels.

RECORD NUMBER OF CANDIDATES FOR 80 SEATS
It is an unusual hurry at CHP headquarters. It is almost impossible to find an empty elevator. There are more than 600 candidates running for the 80-seat Party Assembly. This means the party grassroots believe in change. This change is likely to be mirrored in the election and we can see it in the eyes of delegates.
EU ambassadors are closely monitoring CHP if it is really changing, or could social democracy be more open, or will CHP increase its votes. This caucus will also give an answer to this question: Will CHP get rid of the curse of "we will not let it happen" stuck on the party after the 1980 military coup, and will it somehow turn into a "we will let it happen" discourse?
PRESIDENTIAL PARADOX: HE SAID 'I SHOULD BE IMPARTIAL' BUT HE COULD NOT
President Abdullah Gul made a statement which contradicts himself only two days after his earlier statement. On corruption allegations in Kayseri, Gul had earlier said, "I would have a lot to say if I were a politician, but I can hardly contain myself in order not to become a party."
However, he could not contain himself yesterday and said, "I can stand behind Ozhaseki (Kayseri Mayor) until the end."

Turkish Airlines, which has started works to become a world brand, made Danish tennis player Caroline Wozniachi the new face of "Business Class" after Kobe Bryant.
Wozniacki will come to Turkey on December 20. Commercial film of Wozniacki will be aired in all European countries.
HEAVY STORM IN ANTALYA
Southern province of Antalya has never seen such a storm before. The waves in the sea, caused by the storm, made a 108 meters ship crash into cliff like a ship made of paper. A sailor is missing. Another ship ran ashore in Kumluca region in Antalya.
DAVUTOGLU CALLS CLINTON: PREVENT IT
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu called U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over the news reports that Armenian resolution would be discussed in U.S. House of Representatives.
Clinton was reported as saying the stance of the administration has not changed. She said the U.S. administration was against the resolution.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan responded strongly to the allegations of Republican People's Party (CHP) regarding Municipality of Central Anatolian province of Kayseri.
Erdogan said, "the corruption had prevailed during their period in Istanbul and Kocaeli. Such slanders will turn like a boomerang and will hit its owner."
TWO LANGUAGE CONCERN OF TURKISH ARMED FORCES
General Staff said, "unity of language is an indispensable part of being a nation. Turkish Armed Forces supports preservation of unitary and nation state."
STORM TURNS SHIP INTO A BOAT
A Bolivian flagged ship crashed into cliff and leaned into one side because of strong storm in southern province of Antalya.
The storm knocked down and uprooted the trees.
