Publishers in Bosnia-Herzegovina are competing with each other to publish books that have been translated into Bosnian language from Turkish.

After exporting food items, clothing and tv series, Turkey began exporting books to Bosnia-Herzegovina. Not only Bosnians themselves but also Serbs and Croats living in Bosnia-Herzegovina love to read books from Turkey.

Bosnian publishers virtually began competing with each other to publish books translated from Turkish to Bosnian especially after 2003, the year when Nobel prize winner Orhan Pamuk's "Yeni Hayat" (New Life) was published in Bosnian language.

High interest in Turkish books is also evident in book fairs. Publishers allocate the best spaces in their booths at the fairs to books translated from Turkish to Bosnian.

Speaking to the AA, the owner of Connectum Publications, Ayet Arifi, said Monday that the books translated from Turkish to Bosnian are symbols of the unity and friendship that exist between Bosnians and Turks.
