Turkey will probably hold parliamentary elections on June 12 but the government has yet to make an official decision on election timetable.

Turkish government spokesman said the government would confirm the election date as June 12 in late-February or early-March.

"So, there is a very short time remaining for the legislative session this year. We have some draft laws that are of top priority, such as readjustment of public debts, the law on the Supreme Board of Radio and Television, and adjustment laws on Supreme Court of Appeals, the Council of State and the Constitutional Court which must pass parallel to recent constitutional amendments," Deputy Prime Minister Cemil Cicek said.

"The parliament will wrap up its legislative works after passage of these laws due to elections," he said.

Cicek added that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would make a detailed statement on Tuesday about recent developments in Egypt and Tunisia.
