THAT IS ENOUGH
Those who criticize government and sects and those who make police and prosecutors angry are taken into custody with the allegation of Ergenekon. Jurists are reacting against 11 custodies most of whom were journalists. Ahmet Sik, who reported coup diaries, claimed to be belonging to Ozden Ornek, as news, and Nedim Sener who attracted the attentions with his book in which he examined role of police in assassination of Hrant Dink, were taken into custody. Police raided houses and business places of 10 people in Ankara and Istanbul, including Prof Yalcin Kucuk, OdaTV's Ankara Representative Mumtaz Idil, the General Coordinator Dogan Yurdakul, National Intelligence Agency (MIT) member Kasif Kozanoglu as well as the two journalists on charges of being the member of "Ergenekon terrorist organization" and inciting people to hatred and enmity.

CRITICAL VISIT FROM GUL
President Abdullah Gul, who visited Egypt, met with Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, the head of the Egyptian Armed Forces Supreme Council. Gul said a quick and transparent transition should be ensured to fulfill demands of Egyptian people for democracy. Gul said the transition process will not be successful in case it fails to meet the expectations.

ANOTHER WAVE
Police detained ten people including Professor Yalcin Kucuk on charges of being members of the Ergenekon terrorist organization after searching their homes. Their names were mentioned during interrogation of Soner Yalcin, owner of the Odatv. Nedim Sener, who wrote a book about the killing of Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink in 2007, was among the detainees.

RENOWNED CELLIST TO PERFORM IN TURKEY
16-time Grammy winning American cellist Yo Yo Ma will come to Turkey to greet music lovers in Istanbul. He will give a concert on March 10.

LOWEST LEVEL IN INFLATION
Annual inflation in consumer prices decreased to the lowest level in 42 years with 4.16 percent. Annual inflation was 10.87 percent in producer prices.

ERGENEKON CUSTODY TO HERO OF FREEDOM OF PRESS
A journalist of daily Milliyet Nedim Sener, who was announced as "hero of freedom of press" by international press institute, and 9 other names were taken into custody. Police who went to 16 addresses early in the morning in Ankara and in Istanbul detained 10 people. Name of the 11th person was Kasif Kozanoglu from National Intelligence Agency. He could not be found because he was on duty in Afghanistan. In the operation linked with OdaTV, journalist of daily Milliyet Nedim Sener, who won international awards by writing negligence of police in Dink assassination, was taken into custody.

WE HAVE EXPERIENED THE SAME THINGS
President Abdullah Gul commented on the transition process in Egypt under military administration after Hosni Mubarak. Gul said, "we experienced same things. We will relay them our own experiences." Gul said level of expectations of Egyptian people for democracy increased very much, adding that this could also lead to a very big disappointment. Gul said there utmost care should be shown in this process.

SOMEBODY EXPLAIN IT TO US
In the latest wave of Ergenekon case, journalists who are known for their objection to military interventions have also been detained. Such development was confusing. Nedim Sener, who is known for his news articles on unidentified murders, and Ahmet Sik, who published the coup diaries that later became the signal light of Ergenekon process, were detained on the charge of supporting a military coup.

ALLEGATIONS ON BLACKMAIL TO BAYKAL
As journalists were detained within the scope of Ergenekon case, it has been alleged that new documents were discovered in Soner Yalcin's computer. Sources said a document seized during last month's operation against OdaTV claimed that a video tape named "Varan 2" would be used against former Republican People's Party (CHP) chairperson Deniz Baykal unless he handed over Halk TV.

THEY DETAINED THEM TOO
Nine journalists have been detained in Ankara and Istanbul for their alleged involvement with the Ergenekon organization. The detainees include Nedim Sener who published a book recently about killing of Hrant Dink, and Ahmet Sik, who is already on trial over a book he co-wrote about the Ergenekon group. Police also searched their houses.

FAMOUS CERAMIST PASSES AWAY
Worldwide famous Turkish painter and ceramist Umran Baradan died of gastric cancer at the age of 66. Baradan was the creator of the Cinilikoy in the western province of Izmir. She will be laid to rest in Izmir later in the day.

HERON CRASHES IN BATMAN
An Israeli-made Heron unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashed in southeastern province of Batman. The aircraft was on a routine reconnaissance flight five kilometers from the Ilisu Damn construction zone. Efforts underway to locate the wreckage of the UAV.

18TH WAVE HITS JOURNALISTS
In the latest operation waged within the scope of Ergenekon case, a total of 10 people, including 9 journalists, have been detained in Istanbul and Ankara. Security forces are now searching for Kasif Kozinoglu, former member of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT). Upon the command of Ergenekon prosecutor Zekeriya Oz, security forces raided the houses of 11 people including journalists Nedim Sener, Dogan Yurdakul and Ahmet Sik yesterday morning. Police searched the houses for hours and seized numerous documents.

GUL'S CALL FOR TRANSPARENCY TO EGYPT
Turkish President Abdullah Gul met with Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, the head of the Egyptian Armed Forces Supreme Council, in Egypt. Speaking after the gathering, Gul said Egypt's transition process should be transparent, open and satisfying.

OUR REACTION WILL BE VERY STRONG
President Abdullah Gul responded strongly to the statement of terrorist PKK organization that they ended inaction. Gul said, "everybody has seen that they will not lead anywhere by applying to terrorism. Everybody should take lesson from what has happened and should not make terrorist activities, otherwise our reaction will be very strong."

INFLATION IS AT LOWEST LEVEL OF PAST 41 YEARS
Consumer prices were up 4.16 percent in February 2011. According to the figures for February 2011, the consumer prices index (CPI) climbed 0.73 percent and the rise in producer prices index (PPI) was 1.72 percent in February 2011. The annual inflation was up 4.16 percent in CPI and 10.87 percent in PPI in February. Thus, inflation dropped to the lowest level of the figures of the past 41 years.

ARE YOU THAT BLOOD-THIRSTY?
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan described Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) as an extension of terrorist organization PKK. "In the past, the terrorist organization used to send messages via its own illegal media organs. Nowadays, a political party is acting as the spokesperson of the organization," he said. The premier also noted that BDP had an opportunist stance and it was a vote hunter. "Are the death of young people and their killing others can be considered humane acts just because you want to collect votes for June 12 elections. How can you think of getting votes by provoking the country and setting the streets on fire? Are you that blood-thirsty?," Erdogan said.

GENERALS HAVE SEEN EXPECTATIONS
Turkish President Abdullah Gul, who paid a visit to Egypt, gave messages for democracy. Gul said that Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, the head of the Egyptian Armed Forces Supreme Council, and his friends had perceived the Egyptian nation's expectations. Gul, who is the second head of state that visited Egypt after the fall of Hosni Mubarak, was welcomed by Tantawi. As part of his visit, Gul also met with Mohammed Badie, leader of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, and Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa.

NEW OPERATION IN ERGENEKON
Police detained 10 people including journalists and writers, widening a three-year-old investigation into the terrorist organization of Ergenekon. Police also searched homes and business places of the detainees and confiscated a number of documents.

CALL FOR DEMOCRACY
President Abdullah Gul has become the first statesman who paid a visit to Egypt after ouster of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Gul met Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, the head of the Egyptian Armed Forces Supreme Council. He called on Tantawi to pave the way for a democratic order in Egypt as soon as possible.
