CUMHURIYET DOUBTS STILL EXIST Prof.Dr. Ali Demir, the chairman of the Student Selection and Replacement Center (OSYM), said regarding decipher claims in the university entrance exam that there was no code in the exam but algorithm. Demir's statement did not remove doubts even caused more confusion. Those who took the university entrance exam demand that it should be cancelled. INSPECTORS UNDER PRESSURE Labor and Social Security Minister Omer Dincer said that investigations have been launched about 102 inspectors in the past four years and 29 of them were penalized. Dincer said that 22 inspectors were assigned to other public institutions or other posts. 46 others retired, he said.
HURRIYET SUMMON YOUR AMBASSADOR OR I WILL NOT COME TO YOUR COUNTRY Ambassador crisis has escalated between Turkey and Austria before Austrian President Heinz Fischer's scheduled visit to Turkey in May. In its messages it sent to Ankara through different diplomatic channels, Austria demanded that Turkey summon its Ambassador Ecvet Tezcan in Vienna, who has caused a problem with an interview with Die Presse newspaper in November 2010. The Vienna administration said otherwise, the president's visit to Turkey might be in danger. In his interview, Ambassador Tezcan criticized Austrian government's policy towards foreigners, and said, "Turks in Austria were forced to establish ghettos." NO ANSWER TO REAL QUESTION Prof.Dr. Ali Demir, the chairman of the Student Selection and Replacement Center (OSYM), stood before the media to respond to the "deciphered university entrance exam booklet" claims. However, Demir could not reply to the most important question. "Why did the copies distributed to the press have a decipher?" Denying decipher allegations, Demir said, "in our master booklet, the answers are lined up towards small to the big. In the copies distributed to the press, the places of the correct answers were not changed, but the places of wrong answers were mixed up. Therefore, when you line them up, the answer, the place of which does not change, is the correct answer." However, according to this statement, the correct answers of all 40 maths questions stay in the same place with the method named "decipher"--which still remains as a question mark. When Demir said all booklets would be posted on their web-site, OSYM's web-site collapsed.
MILLIYET ERDOGAN ON NUMBER OF DEPUTIES On board from British capital of London to Turkey, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the number of deputies of ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party could be 315 at the end of upcoming parliamentary elections. The reason of Erdogan's decreasing the number of his party's deputies to 315 is not a decline in votes for the AK Party but the reason is that High Election Board (YSK) changed numbers of deputies by provinces. The board increased number of deputies in metropolises. SUMMIT IN VIP LOUNGE AT ESENBOGA AIRPORT President Abdullah Gul had a mini summit with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan before his departure for Indonesia. Gul had a meeting with Erdogan, who returned to Ankara from Istanbul, at VIP lounge at Esenboga Airport in Ankara on Sunday. Gul and Erdogan held another summit on Friday when discussions on the presidential system have been continuing.

Demir said, "there are no codes in the exam, and we are making public 1.7 million booklets." However, he could not eliminate doubts. "WE ARE THINKING OF OUR PEOPLE, NOT OUR OWN POCKETS" Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), opened Deniz Gezmis Park in Istanbul, and pressed on Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan with these words. CHP leader said his party was the most-prepared party to the general elections. "Our single target is to make Turkey reach contemporary civilization level," he said. Kilicdaroglu said, "we are the only party that is determined to solve Turkey's problems and we are the only party who think of our people, not our own pockets."
SABAH CROSS-BORDER "STONE" CASE An investigation was filed into three youngsters in Turkey who staged petrol bomb demonstrations in France and Switzerland, where they were actually living. Turkish judiciary which has previously sentenced children throwing stones at police officers in pro-PKK demonstrations to heavy imprisonment terms, has taken a "cross-border" decision regarding trial of juvenile terror criminals for the first time. Sahin Boztas and Ridvan Demir are 22 and Bozan Mintas is 21 years old. However, they were below 18 when the mentioned demonstration was staged. Therefore, juvenile prosecutor's office will deal with the investigation. If the prosecutor sees it necessary, s/he will file a lawsuit against Boztas, Demir and Mintas on charges of "being members of terrorist organization." TOUR TO CONVINCE FAMILIES FROM OSYM Prof.Dr. Ali Demir, the chairman of the Student Selection and Replacement Center (OSYM), denied decipher claims in the university entrance exam, and decided to go on a tour around Turkey to convince families. Demir said the OSYM had examined all booklets, and could not find any secret decipher system in them. Demir will hold meetings with educationalists and students' families in various cities to respond to the allegations.

YENI SAFAK 500 MLN EURO INVESTMENT IN DENIZLI German energy giant RWE built a natural gas combined cycle plant with a 500 million Euro investment in southwestern province of Denizli. The plant will start to serve on April 13. Andreas Radmacher, the chairman of executive board of RWE Turkey, said that they had a full confidence in Turkey, which had a stable economy, and that's why they made this investment. The plant will serve for 3.5 million subscribers. CLEAR RESPONSE TO CODE CLAIMS Prof.Dr.Ali Demir, the chairman of the Student Selection and Replacement Center (OSYM), said that code claims in the university entrance exam were baseless and 1.7 million booklets would be posted on the website of OSYM. After being informed by Demir, President Abdullah Gul said, "Demir's statements are satisfactory. Students can be prepared for the second exam trustfully."
ZAMAN THAT NIGHT, WE LEFT 81 OF OUR FRIENDS BENEATH STRAIT Turkey experienced one of the biggest maritime disasters on April 4, 1953 when Dumlupinar submarine sank. 81 Turkish sailors died at the Canakkale Strait. Two mariners, Huseyin Akis and Huseyin Inkaya, survived the disaster. On the 58th anniversary of the disaster, they spoke to Zaman daily newspaper. Akis said, "when I tried to swim to the surface, I thought I could not see my newborn." Inkaya said, "we had left 81 of our friends 90 meters beneath the strait." ANKARA FERRY SET SAILS FROM LIBYA WITH 290 INJURED Ankara ferryboat that carried humanitarian aid to Libya, then set sail to Turkey with 290 injured and 80 companions from Misurata and Benghazi ports. Turkey had contacted both Libyan leader Muammar al-Qadhafi and opponents and ensured a temporary ceasefire in order to enable the ferryboat to get the injured from Libya. The ferry had to wait off Misurata for five days. Some of the ferry passengers are opponents and some of them al-Qadhafi supporters.
