Turkish dailies mostly covered in their Wednesday issues developments after an investigation against the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) chairman Kemal Kilicadroglu, term of President Abdullah Gul, tender for Istanbul's third bridge and auto sales hitting a new record.

Turkish dailies mostly covered in their Wednesday issues developments after an investigation against the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) chairman Kemal Kilicadroglu, term of President Abdullah Gul, tender for Istanbul's third bridge and auto sales hitting a new record.

Almost all newspapers wrote about developments regarding investigation against Kilicdaroglu's statements.

Hurriyet daily said that CHP deputies and Kilicdaroglu strongly reacted to investigation against him and the daily quoted him as saying, "I am not afraid of your special courts or their prosecutors. I only revere Turkish nation."

Vatan daily said that Kilicdaroglu applied to the parliament to strip him of his parliamentary immunity.

HURRIYET: That parliamentary sub-commission added a provision to the bill on procedures of presidential elections, fixing President Abdullah Gul's term to seven years.

MILLIYET paper wrote about a tender for Istanbul's third bridge and said that no firms made a bid for the tender. The daily quoted Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying that they had the power to build the third bridge on Istanbul Strait.

TURKIYE DAILY said that Turkey's automobile and light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales grew 13.61 percent in 2011 when compared with the previous year, stating that a total of 864,439 cars and LCVs were sold in Turkey in 2011, hitting a new record.

ZAMAN daily wrote about Colombia's Vice President Angelino Garzon's visit to Turkey aiming at boosting relations. Speaking to Zaman, Garzon said that Turkey was a model country and Colombia was eager to benefit from experiences of Turkey.
