Turkish Consul General in New York Levent Bilgen hosted a reception for the exhibition at Turkish House.

Ates told reporters that he was inspired by inner world of people, life and nature in his works included in the exhibition titled "Designs of Universe 2010-2011".

Turkish Consul General in New York Levent Bilgen hosted a reception for the exhibition at Turkish House.

Ates told reporters that he was inspired by inner world of people, life and nature in his works included in the exhibition titled "Designs of Universe 2010-2011".

The exhibition will run till February 18.

Ismail Ates was born in Gole town of northeastern Ardahan province in 1960. He graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Education at Gazi University in 1982. He completed his master's degree and doctoral degree, proficiency in arts at Hacettepe University, Painting Department. He continued his post doctorate at the Art Department of City University of New York, Hunter College between 2002 and 2004.

Ates has had many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions and biennials in Turkey and foreign countries. He has also attended national and international conferences and presented his papers. His works can be seen in many national and international collections.
