The game started as a lively affair with chances for both sides as Nobre for Beşiktaş and Guiza for Fenerbahçe went close in the first half but it ended in deadlock.

Fenerbahçe went a head in the 75th minute with Alex penalty after Sivxok had handle the ball after a free kick and then in the 92nd minute Alex sealed the victory with his second goal kick.

The last time Fenerbahçe won the Super Cup was in 2007 the game was played at the Atatürk Stadium in Istanbul and is the curtain-raiser to the Turkcell Super League.
