GALATASARAY AND FENERBAHCE IN UEFA GROUPS
Istanbul teams Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe used their advantages to make it to the group stages of the Europa League when they played the second leg of the playoffs on Thursday 27th August.

GALATASARAY AND FENERBAHCE IN UEFA GROUPS .. Istanbul teams Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe used their advantages to make it to the group stages of the Europa League when they played the second leg of the playoffs on Thursday 27th August.
The Top Turkish teams which were already close to advancing to the group stages took the stage for the UEFA Europa League playoff round on Thursday, and make it to the continent’s second-tier club football competition.
GALATASARAY
Galatasaray had a 1-1 draw with Estonia’s Levadia Tallinn after a boring game in Estonia. Nonda scored the only goal for the lions who had dominated the first game with a 5-0 victory over their rivals at its own Ali Sami Yen Stadium last week and almost guaranteed its spot in the Europa League.
Having one of the best squads in the competition, the Lions are considered one of the favorites to make it to the later stages of the Europa League. Galatasaray is in stunning form with 29 goals in only eight games, proof that coach Frank Rijkaard has been quick to have his players adapt well to the attacking football mentality. However, Galatasaray’s goal spree may not continue tonight, since the five-goal advantage has provided the Dutch coach the confidence to use some of his younger players. Some fresh faces are likely to take part in the action tonight.
FENERBAHÇE
Just like its archrival Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe went on to the pitch with a huge advantage, too, since it had defeated Switzerland’s FC Sion 2-0 on away ground. Although they played at their own Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium yesterday night, the Yellow Canaries were given a hard time by their rivals .
F.C.Sion displayed a very offensive and aggressive football which almost shocked all spectators as well as Fenerbahçe players on the field surely. The two teams drew 2-2. Fenerbahçe goals were scored by talented left wing player DOS SANTOS, a national player for Brazil as well.
The absence of injured captain Alex De Souza was felt all throughout the game, but strikers Semih Şentürk, Daniel Güiza and winger Andre dos Santos tried to do their part, as they have done so far.
TRABZONSPOR
Trabzonspor on the other hand received a victory of 1-0 over Toulouse playing away which was good for nothing after a home loss of 3-1 in Trabzon, a week ago.
