EUROBASKET 2009: TURKEY DOWNED BY SLOVENIA 67-69
After a brilliant performance in the first 5 matches Turkish National Basketball Team lost its "undefeated" title against Slovenia in the third match of the 2nd round Group F. Turkey completed as the 2nd in its Group and will take on Greece in the quarter finals.

After a brilliant performance in the first 5 matches Turkish National Basketball Team lost its “undefeated” title against Slovenia in the third match of the 2nd round Group F.
Turkish GIANTS (12 giant men - as they are called) have had a problem on the offence right from the beggining of the tournament. On the other hand Slovenia has been one of the best "basketball playing" teams since the beginning
The match never seemed to turn in favour of the Turkish side and Slovenia led the the score throughout the whole game.
The fact Hidayet TURKOGLU - NBA player - improved his perfomance in this match did not help Turkey to continue its series of victory.

Turkey is to play Greece on Friday 18th for the quarterfinals.
The Turkish side does not have a good record against Greece and is determined to make a brand new start by defeating its opponent this time
